Chapters 48 to 50 of The Changeling Game have been added to the archive, both to the Read Online section and to the eBook downloads. A few further continuity edits have been made to earlier chapters in the process, so this is a good time to replace your old Identity Theft eBook if you hadn’t already done so… and a good time to replace your replacement.
Meanwhile, all of the archive pages have been cleaned up of the mess that ACF created. I found a rather fun and tidy way to fix it. That said, the fix was complex enough, and requires enough knowledge of back-end programming, that I can no longer recommend ACF for anyone trying to build an archive without delving into how to write scripts in the process. That plugin is no longer a beginner-friendly option. Still, it means that once these muses stop running me ragged and give me time to work on the other sites’ relaunches, it’s still within the realm of the possible. I’d been afraid that it wouldn’t be, so whew.
Now that all of that crazy coding drama is behind me, I hope to get “caught up” on my writing. For a while, I was writing four chapters ahead of what was actually going up, and at the moment I’m down to only being two chapters ahead. Hopefully I can build up my front-log so that I can keep ticking away at two chapters a week. We’re coming up on the 20-year anniversary of when I posted chapter 1, after all (September 5) and I’m tempted to see if I can post the finale by then… if my muses cooperate and don’t stretch the tale out by too many more chapters, that is! Fingers crossed!
